Reckewey Tennis Staff
Joel Reckewey is currently the head tennis coach at Concordia University for both of the men’s and women’s tennis programs. He is a high performing business graduate of the University of Nebraska and is an Elite USPTA certified teaching prof essional. In 1996, Joel was the class A Nebraska Boys’ Tennis State runner up. In 2000, he was the Kansas 6A State High School Boys’ Singles Tennis Champion and Team Champion. As a junior tennis player, he was ranked #2 in the Missouri Valley Boys’ 16’s and 18’s divisions and was qualified to p lay at the National Boys’ Hard Court Championships in Kalamazoo Michigan 5 years in a row. He posted a top #30 junior national ranking in the 18 and under division. Joel Reckewey was a four year Varsity letter winner for the University of Nebraska Men's Te nnis Team and was awarded the weight lifter of the year in 2003. He was the captain of the team in his senior season. He has tennis teaching experience at the Lincoln Racquet Club, the Overland Park Racquet Club and the Mike Wolf Tennis Academy as a teaching pro and traveling coach. Joel Reckewey has been the Co -Head tennis professional at the Abbott Sports Complex and Coach at the Nebraska Tennis Academy for more than 5 years. He is the former Head Coach for the Lincoln Christian High School Girls’ Tennis Team. Joel Reckewey is the Director of Tennis at Prairie Life Fitness in Lincoln, NE for their outdoors tennis programs and he has served as a business service representative for Prince Global Sports .
Jon Reckewey is a USPTA teaching professional. He has taught for prestigious facilities like Westside Tennis in Houston and Overland Park Racquet Club in Kansas City. While in Houston, Jon Reckewey had the opportunity to serve as a hitting partner for ATP professionals playing at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships. His stay in Overland Park included working for the Mike Wolf Tennis Academy and traveling with some of the best junior play ers in the Missouri
Valley and the Nation. In 2000, Jon Reckewey was the Kansas 6A Stat e High School Boys’ Doubles Tennis Champion and Team Champion. As a junior player, Jon won two National Junior Open Tournaments and was ranked #1 in the Missouri Valley Boys’ 14’s, 16’s and 18’s before moving on to compete for the Baylor University Tennis Program. While at Baylor, Jon Reckewey helped win a National Title in 2003-2004. He is a Big 12 Tennis Team Champion three times over and an NCAA team runner up in 2004-2005. Although Jon Reckewey focused on helping the team primarily in doubles, he was a quarterfinalist in the 2005 ITA Regional Championships in Singles. His understanding of teamwork and keen insight into player dynamics made Jon Reckewey an ideal doubles player. These skills enabled him to reach an NCAA ranking of #6 in the Nation, win the 2005 ITA Regional Championships and be named to the NCAA All -Tournament Team. Jon Reckewey has been the Head Tennis Professional at the Abbott Sports Complex and coach at the Nebraska Tennis Academy for more than 5 years. Jon Reckewey is the former Co-Head Coach at the Lincoln Christian High School Girl s’ Tennis Team.
James Ingrahm is the forme r Concordia University head tenni s coach for two years. He has obtained his Master’s Degree in Business from Concordia University. James was ranked #1 in under 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18’s junior divisions in Barbados. He trained for 2 years in Europe at the Sutton Tennis Academy in London and Barcelona. In his First 2 years of college ABAC in Georgia, he was ranked #3 in D1 JUCO nationally. James then transferred to Ouachita Baptist in Arkansas and for 2 years he was ranked #4 in the Division 2 rankings. He has been ranked #5 on the Davis Cup team. The last 9 years, James has been working with high level juniors in Barbados and the U.S. He now competes in CrossFit events across the region. The last 2 years, James has worked as the assistant head tennis professional at “Reckewey Tennis.”
Maria Mota is a certified United States Professional Tennis Association teaching instructor. She is a graduate from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a BS in Health and Fitness Studies. Maria played #1 singles and #2 doubles for NWU where she helped win the GPAC conference in 2012 and 2013. She also represented Women's Tennis on the Student Athletic Advisory Council in 2015. Maria is the #1 ranked female Tri-athlete in the State of Nebraska in her age division and she is a Power Cycle instructor. She has been coaching at “Reckewey Tennis” for 8 years and enjoys pushing athletes to reach their highest potential.
